Hi I was provisionally accepted to Clemson the summer after my Junior year. I have a 31 ACT and a 3.0uw/3.75w and correctly reported that when I took my ACT. I just recieved acceptance to the Clemson Bridge program and I’m freaking out. I didn’t not apply anywhere else because I expected Clemson to honor the provisional acceptance given my grades have even increased my senior year. I have no idea what to do I’m freaking out.
I know nothing about the Bridge program except what I found just now when I looked it up on the internet. However, you should probably ask your guidance counselor to check with Clemson as to why you were not accepted directly. If it wasn’t a mistake (yes, mistakes do happen), you can apply to schools which are still accepting applications or you can do well in the Bridge program for a year and then go to Clemson. Or you could take a gap year.
Basically, they want you to attend a specific community college (Tri County Technical College) and earn 30 transferable credits with a 2.5 GPA to transfer to Clemson.
Questions to consider:
a. Does TCTC have the transferable courses needed to prepare you for your intended major at Clemson? Check the courses needed for your major at Clemson, then check the course equivalency at http://virtual.clemson.edu/groups/tcel/ .
b. Check whether your major at Clemson requires a high GPA or competitive admission process to enter; if so, find out how coming from the Bridge program may affect that.
