Hello all, I was wondering when applicants would hear back from clemson about any scholarships they might have received for the 2019-2020 school year.
Not until the Spring for 2019-2020.
Are you talking about a first year applicant? There were two waves of acceptances/scholarships that came out before Feb 1. My daughter found out in November that she had been accepted and received a scholarship in November of last year. Some of her classmates had a similar notification in December.
@brook we had the same experience as @relocatedyankee. Applied in early October, admitted in November with OOS merit scholarship information included in admissions letter.
You do need to apply by December 1 in order to be eligible for any merit money. And as I understand it the majority of the decisions for those that apply by December 1 are not sent out until until February 15.
Another thing you can do to get a sense of your ability to receive merit money is use the Clemson Net Price Calculator and plug in your numbers. https://netprice.app.clemson.edu/calc/
This could be off a bit but my memory is for those who are in the top 10% of HS class and have an ACT score of 29-30 will get $7500 if you have ACT of 31-32 you will get $10,000 and if you have 33 and above you get $15,000. Same for corresponding SAT scores.
If you school doesn’t rank they will still consider you based on test scores and GPA alone.
Good luck
My daughter applied last year and was accepted around December 20 through a big orange envelope in the mail. She ended up going to JMU instead. (1410 SAT, 4.25 weighted GPA, 7 APs, the rest mostly honors, extra curriculars nothing special.)
Younger daughter applying this year to school of Nursing. Clemson is her #1 choice.
