Clemson, Syracuse or University of Delaware Engineering

It is getting close to May 1st and my son is still trying to decide between these three schools for mechanical engineering. What we ;know so far: While Clemson is probably the strongest, he is hesitant about how far it is from home. Any thoughts on the strength reputation of U Delaware and Syracuse programs? They are both only about 10-15% of the school, much smaller than Clemson (35%). U Del has a higher rank (though not too impressed at Admitted Student Day by the program). Syracuse had a very impressive info session at their Admitted Student Day, though not sure about their reputation. Both Clemson and Syracuse have Co-op opportunities, U Del does not. Thanks for any help you can provide!

I have worked with engineers from all over the country for 30 years. I am on the east coast. I have only encountered one Syracuse engineering graduate and he wasn’t very impressive. Syracuse is a great school, but for other things. I would pick Clemson or Delaware.
