Clemson tour

So, long shot here but does anyone have a Clemson student who would be willing to give us a tour on August 4? Will pay $50. We checked with Admissions in early June and they said to check back in July. We checked the website daily from June 6 to yesterday and their website never posted dates for the first week in August.

Join a Clemson parent Facebook page and ask there, my daughter got a tour from a student that way, and as luck would have it, after I scheduled it tours opened up (this was April), so she got a formal (outdoor) tour also.

Thank you! Will do that.

We are going the first week of August. The dates booked up really fast. Maybe email admissions and see if they can fit you in on one of the tours.

I found a student thanks to FB. Woot! Admissions was no help.

When you go be sure to check out the Snow family outdoor complex/Andy’s; it’s about a mile from campus and not usually on the tours, but it has the lake related activities like the beach, docks, kayaking, paddle boards and a beautiful lounge space and firepit.

Just wanted to share my experience with this. We signed up in mid February for our mid-April spring break college tours. We were unable to get a tour at Clemson for the day we would be there despite checking the website daily for 2 months. I requested to join the Clemson parents Facebook group but my request was denied by the group admin (likely because I answered the question honestly re: whether I has a student currently enrolled there). I am not a parent there, so I understood that. I messaged the admin explaining what we were hoping for and asked if she had any suggestions but never heard back.

We visited Clemson today, without a tour. They offer a “virtual” self guided tour only, not a self guided tour designed for when you are actually on campus.

We did not have a great experience walking around and trying to get a feel for the campus on our own. The lack of an in-person tour likely played a big factor. I think Clemson is making a big mistake by not making more tours available or at least offering an on campus self guided tour app. They expressly do not have a waitlist for yours and very clearly instruct people not to show up without a scheduled tour.

In comparison, while it was also difficult to get a tour at Wake Forest, when we reached out to them they suggested that if we are unable to register for a tour we could show up anyway and they could likely fit us in. (We were eventually able to register there so it was a non-issue.)

Just a follow-up… I did get a response this morning from the admin of the Clemson parent Facebook page. Unfortunately it was after we left the area but I accept blame for only trying to reach out to her one day before we visited the campus.
