I am extremely interested in transferring to Clemson, but being an out-of-state transfer student, I am concerned with the amount of funding Clemson might be willing to give me. I would ideally like to get the tuition of Clemson down into the $20,000 per year mark, or really just the price of the in-state tuition. I am aware that for the first semester, Clemson does not offer any sort of aid to transfer students; after that first full time semester, transfer students are eligible for the general university scholarships.
Does anyone know/have you received any scholarships or tuition reductions from Clemson as a transfer student, and if so, how much was it worth in total? Do you know if Clemson is generous with the funding it gives out for students such as myself? If it helps, I plan on majoring in Microbiology and have a 3.6 GPA with a year and a half of laboratory research experience and a good many awards and leadership extracurricular activities as well.
Do not expect much in money from Clemson as a transfer student OR as a current student…certainly not enough to get costs down to instate…not even close. You’d be lucky to get a couple thousand off the costs as a transfer or current student award.
What is wrong with your current school? Why do you want to transfer? Can you and your family afford Clemson if you get zero in scholarships in all future years?
