My son was recently admitted to the OSU Fisher School of Business and Clemson pre-Business. $7500 merit aid from Clemson and waiting to see if he gets the OSU Buckeye scholarship. He has visited OSU but hasn’t made it down to Clemson yet. Any thoughts?
When I was at Clemson for my campus tour, they mentioned the business school a little. Mostly the tour guide mentioned that Clemson business majors work a lot with the engineers in Creative Inquiries. (Basically, students work on a project with student in other fields and try to eventually market that product.) That was the focus when she talked about business. At Clemson, you will have the opportunity to work with the technology fields to learn your skills. I will say that Clemson is not necessarily known for their Business school, but it would be a good experience if he is interested in the business world of technology. Clemson also has a stock market monitoring system, but many Universities do.
The one thing that I did notice is that many business majors, in one way or another, are involved with the many sport’s programs on campus. Because of that, I would think that you could potentially make a name for yourself in more ways than one. (Especially since many of Clemson’s sports programs (Football, Baseball, and Soccer) are gaining a lot of National attention.)
My number one tip is to try and make it for a tour. My tour guide did not really talk about the business school just because there were no business majors in my tour group. Another great resource is Clemson’s College of Business website if you have not already looked at it.
Good luck and go tigers!
