Clemson vs Auburn - Honors Colleges

I've narrowed my top two schools to Clemson and Auburn, but the deciding factor will be whether I get into their Honors Colleges. I know that the two schools are very similar. Can anyone chance me on getting in, or offer any helpful information about the Honors Colleges?

I'm in the top 7% of my class, 1380/2130 on the SAT, 3.74 UW GPA, and all of my classes have been AP or Honors except 4. Tons of extracurriculars, volunteering, and leadership. OOS too, if that changes anything. Thanks!

According to the honors college at website, people accepted to the Calhoun Honors College at Clemson average an SAT score of 1400 and are ranked in the top 3% of their high school class. Your stats are a little bit below that but you definitely have a chance so hopefully your extracurriculars will help you out there!

Let me know if you have any more questions!!

You can also apply to the Honors College subsequent to enrolling. It isn’t a ‘freshmen only’ admittance.

^That is correct. If you have a 3.5 GPA, you are eligible to apply for the Honors College (though I’d imagine you’d need a higher GPA than 3.5 to actually get in)

Do you need to maintain a 3.5 each semester to stay in the Honors College after admittance?

For most honors colleges you need to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. It differs from school to school.

you need to maintain a 3.4 GPA to stay in the Calhoun Honors College. If your GPA falls below that and is between a 2.8 and 3.4, you have one semester to get your GPA back up to a 3.4 GPA but after that you would be dismissed from the honors college.
