Clemson wait list

My daughter was admitted off the waitlist last year in April/May (can’t remember exact month) with a postcard for the spring term.

@SAD1010 – do you know if any students were admitted off the waitlist for Fall admission? Did your daughter accept?

@imstacey She applied for fall but was asked if she would accept spring admission as a transfer or as a freshman. No, she did not accept admission. She is currently at Penn State University.

Has anyone heard anything from Clemson about the waitlist

My daughter was admitted through regular admission to the Chemistry program at Clemson, but she’s strongly leaning towards Univ of South Carolina so there’s probably another spot open too. Financially, it is just better for my daughter to finish college with about $10K in student loan at the most. It seems like there might be some spots opened when May 1st rolls around.

@labegg Nope! I know it won’t be until May or even June but hope burns eternal. Heading down south for one last look at several schools and plan to revisit Clemson – especially the Admissions office.

Has anyone called admissions yet to see if they’re looking at the waitlist? I plan on calling later in the week to let them know I am still highly interested.

DD tried calling last week but no one picked up the phone…were they on Springbreak?

Might have been @labegg! :confused:

Shocked and thrilled to say that the big orange “You are Tiger Town Bound” envelope arrived in the mail today!!! My dd made it off the waitlist! We are in CT. There is hope, people!! :slight_smile:

Congrats @imstacey. What part of CT are you from? We live south of Middletown.

@conorsdad – Fairfield. :slight_smile:

Way to go , Glad u got good news, remember to register for orientation and work on housing selections. It will happen fast. Start looking for roommates if you don’t already have one.

@imstacey Just curious what are her stats?

@ctstudent2022
ACT - 29 composite (superscore - 31)
GPA - 3.87 UW

Tons of service work/volunteer work/leadership/employment/sports/clubs. Good essay which spoke to the actual program and equipment used in her major as well as faculty she had met with in the Fall regarding her major.

Continued to demonstrate interest through email and phone. Dropped by (from CT!) Admissions as well as the dept. of her major in person recently during our April break and cried and begged. lol

@imstacey what did she say? I called around April 15 and was told no one has been admitted off the waitlist yet and to call back closer to may 1. Should i call tomorrow and ask how the waitlist is looking, or wait? my best friend is going to clemson and is trying to wait for me to pick where she wants to stay to see if we can room together, and Clemmy is my #1 :frowning:

@poeticpromises – try sending an email to the admissions rep for your state. Let him/her know that Clemson remains your top choice and you have every intention of enrolling if you’re admitted. My daughter had also been told that they would definitely not even look at waitlist until after May 1st. So, you never know! They gave her until May 11th to commit so I bet they will turn to the waitlist again on May 12th, if not sooner. Good luck!

My daughter found out today that she was accepted off of the waitlist. The decision timeline is a little short (May 11) but she is thrilled.

My son was also just notified today of acceptance off waitlist. He got an email and the admissions counselor actually called him personally a few hours later. We were shocked. She’s been wonderful. He emailed 3 times over the last 2 months just checking in and she said it was what worked in his favor. Don’t give up - there is hope!!

Way to be active in admissions and advocate for himself. You should be proud charlestongirl1 of your son. I love the good news and to hear about smart students dreams coming true.
