congrats collegeiscrazy13 and congrats on her decision mamaO33! I visited UGA last spring and it seemed like a pretty cool campus!

I too was accepted off the waitlist today, only to tell the people in admissions that I am going to be a student at UGA instead.

Congrats!
Majones and I will see y’all on 8/31 for the big game…! ;)

Clemson called yesterday, D was accepted off wait list. Not sure what we will do as we were hoping for some aid and probably won’t get it after being on the wait list.

MamaO, funny that you say that! In my phone call with the admissions officer, I thanked him profusely, told him I was committed to UGA, and proceeded to tell him we were going to kick their butts come week one of the season haha. Should be a good one!

haha thats funny! That one time I went to UGA, I went on an admissions tour (wanted to see the campus anyways) mostly to park on campus for free. Told everybody in the tour group that I was from Augusta, GA (bad move since everybody asked me about the Masters) and was planning on majoring in English (was a junior engineering major at that time). It was pretty entertaining!

My daughter was accepted off the waitlist as well! We are very excited! We’re travelling to Clemson this coming weekend for cheer tryouts!

Lydia is delighted to be a Clemson Tiger and we are so proud of how hard she worked to get there!

Being a Florida Gator myself - - will enjoy the Tigers taking on the Bulldogs the first game of the year!!!

YAYYY, CheerMommy!! I specifically came on today hoping you had posted this good news! So happy for your D! A good friend of mine at work is a Gator, and I’m loving the “competition”. This is all new to us - being from New York, and this being our first in college, we are looking forward to the excitement that comes with college football! Will look for you in the sea of Orange at the game at Clemson. I’ll be the one in the Black and Red “Momma Dawg” shirt lol

MAJones36 - haha my D referenced the game in her email after thanking them also. I thought it was pretty classy for them to call personally and we told them so. We really have no hard feelings, because if she had been accepted right away at Clemson, she never would have seen that UGA is a better match for her. I’m actually quite grateful!

That said, looking forward to the big game and hoping for a win! And then next year, same match up will be "between the hedges… Won’t miss that one either!
:)

MamaO- I responded to your message on Facebook, since I am not eligible for PM’s and all. It is in your ‘other’ folder of your message box, since we are not friends

Very happy for your daughter and the rest of the family CheerMommy!

We’ve received no notification (no phone call, no letter, no email) of being accepted off the waitlist, but have received financial aid notification and iroar account set up email. I’m assuming D is in. Sent email to admissions to confirm. Clemson admissions seriously needs to get into this century and have online notifications.

Hope you get some good news!

we did, thanks. an email to admissions confirmed D was accepted off the waitlist. financial aid and login emails went out before the acceptance letters (which were mailed on Wednesday, but we have not yet received). D will not be going to Clemson though. she committed (financially and mentally) to Pitt during the wait. good luck to you all.

Too bad, but hope she enjoys Pitt!

Good luck to her at Pitt! Great school in a great city and I’m sure she’ll enjoy it.

My daughter is on the waitlist for the Bridge to Clemson program. She has 3.2 GPA and scored 1600 on the SAT. Does anyone know of anyone whose been in this situation? CU is her #1 and this is very nerving at this point as we are waiting patiently. We’re just wondering what the chances are at this point.

Burghmom3- your daughter would have received an email! Clemson so much better than the other schools my d applied to regarding communication. I can assue you they are fantastic!

Clemson admissions confirmed that financial aid emails and web access info were sent out before acceptance notification in error. Clemson, in my opinion, is not good with its admission communication. My son applied to 12 schools, my daugher 10. For me, Clemson rated last from a communications standpoint. William & Mary was by far the best. No doubt Clemson is a great school, just not enough pull to sway my daughter after her decision was made. When she committed to Pitt, she truly committed. Best of luck to all.

Oh yeah Clemson is terrible at communicating admissions related stuff to its applicants - won’t disagree with you at all. Definitely lots of room to improvement.

We had a very different experience! My d received an email from the application reviewer the day he looked at the app…which was very soon after she applied, stating that a decision was made and that she would hear very soon. 5 days later she got the big while envelope saying something like “welcome to tiger town”! We were very impressed. Some of the schools with online status were so slow to do anything and it was hard to get someone live if anything was not quite right.

She has been at Clemson 6 months and it seems very well run and so friendly!
