CLEP Exams to Transfer from CC to UC, Faster & Cheaper ???

I know that transfer from Community College (California) to UC, is almost guaranteed as long as you have good grades, of course. Right now I am a junior in high school, who just started caring about his grades and his future. My grades have been bad for the past school years (C’s and B’s) Chances of me getting admitted to UC of my choice are low.

I had this idea about first going to CC and then transferring to UC junior year. I already know that I want to major in Computer Science. My question is can I take CLEP exams in CC and complete all or most of my courses that way, faster and cheaper? Is there a limit on how many credits I can earn that way? And if I can, can I ultimately transfer faster from CC to UC, say within a year?

Thank you for your time!

Go on the website for CLEP, becasue I seem to recall that each college lists how many CLEP credits they will accept. If not, try the college websites themselves.

UCs do not grant credit for CLEP exams

CCC is pretty fast and cheap, don’t be in such a rush. If you didn’t do well before then take the time to really learn the material and strengthen your study habits and efficiency.
