Hi, I took a year off of school after I graduated and traveled. It is now that time to apply to school. If I have some CLEP credits should I apply as a Freshman OR transfer?

I don’t know much about CLEP, are they similar to AP credit and did you take them while in HS?

If so, and if you have never taken a post-HS college class, then you will be considered a fr applicant anywhere.

You are a freshman applicant.

When you have been accepted, and have enrolled, you will have your CLEP scores sent to the college/university that you are attending and the Registrar’s Office will record the appropriate credits on your transcript.

Do check the credit-by-exam policies at the colleges and universities that you are applying to. Each institution determines for itself which exams (and which scores on the exams) can be used for credit or advanced placement. Some will also charge a fee to record the CLEP credits on your transcript.
