I'm a junior as you may have picked up on, but fear not, all these stats are legit.

Schools:
SAFETY
University of Minnesota (I don't like this school so feel free to recommend safeties)

MATCHES...?
Uchicago, Northwestern, Cornell, Berkeley, Michigan

REACHES...?
Duke, Dartmouth

HIGH REACHES
Columbia, H, Y?, Upenn:Wharton <-- me gusta

I want to go into business so feel free to recommend colleges or do whatever the opposite of recommend is.

Also, I wanna be one of those cool kids that doesn’t specify ethnicity. My last name’s not a giveaway.

looks like you’re the man with these stats hahaha you should be fine for most of your matches except UChicago definitely has intereesting essays so it depends on how you approached that. I think you’re an above average candidate at your High Reach school but that doesn’t really make it a whole lot easier to chance you.

I think you should be good with the schools you picked about matches. I think you have really good chances

H,Y, Penn, Columbia, Chicago, Duke, Dartmouth: Reach unless you have hooks
NW, Cornell: Slight Reach
UCB, UCLA, Michigan: Good chances

No Top 10 colleges are matches. RD admit rates could be below 10% for those colleges.

I think that if you like long beach walks and want to know of more safety schools, look at University of Miami. Fairly good chance at all of your colleges.

Hey, random internet strangers, what about HYPSM. Specifically, Harvard Princeton and Stanford.

I think i mentioned this earlier but my top choice would be Upenn Wharton

You have to put down where your parents came from. Nice try with the ethnicity. EC’s kinda weak, GPA bit low given your circumstances. Thus, I agree with 20more. Although you’re not gonna get much aid as OOS for UMich and UC’s…

Agree that you’re in good shape for all of your matches. @sideburns I would also like to add that you made me laugh with this whole thread.

Thank you, folks I’ll be here all week. Also, I feel kind of stupid asking this question but what does OOS mean?

I realize that top 10 decisions are very difficult to predict, but in your opinion, what are my chances of getting into ONE of my high reaches?

^^Wait…my EC’s are weak?

None of these are matches except Michigan and perhaps Berkeley.

^wait, so the exact opposite of what the other two people said?

If you look at past results threads for those “match” schools (UChicago and Cornell in particular), there were lots of people with stats just like yours who were waitlisted or rejected.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1076762-official-cornell-university-class-2015-rd-results.html

You have solid stats and slightly above average ECs. I agree with what the above poster stated about UChicago and Cornell not being match schools. Both of those schools are rather unpredictable in admissions and HYPSM and Wharton are all reaches. You’ll probably get into Michigan and Berkeley and possibly Northwestern. Thanks for chancing me and good luck!

Thank you.
