what type of math does AMC 10/12 test? for ex. geom? alg? trig? calc?!?!

thanx in advance

It tests up to Precalculus.

AMC 10 up to Algebra 2, AMC 12 up to Precalc.
But it also helps to know more general mathematical techniques, such as the pigeonhole principle and recursion...

And number theory and counting problems, which don't really show up in high school math classes.

Don't be intimidated, though. Try one out. You'll like it.

I mean, the AMCs are just for fun anyway.

what is the highest grade level (or age) you can be inorder to do AMC 10. I'm not sure if i would do 10 or 12. (rising junior)

If you're a rising junior, you can only take 12. AMC 10 is for grade 10 and below, AMC 12 is for 12 and below.

Haha, I remember taking AMC 10. In the time we had, I was only able to finish 8 of the 25 questions. And I guessed on 3 of them. Ahh, good times. XD
