<p>Are cliques more likely to form in Liberal arts colleges since the school size is much smaller?</p>

<p>I don’t know about LACs specifically but I have noticed a phenomenon of smaller colleges being more prone to clique mentality than larger schools. That rule is even applicable to high schools of varying sizes.</p>

<p>My school’s not a liberal arts school, but it is a small private school with about 1800 students overall, split between two campuses. I’ve noticed that it’s extremely clique-y here, but as I have nothing to compare it to, I can’t really say that larger schools are without cliques.</p>
<p>my small LAC seems to be pretty clique-y, but that might be because we’re all freshman struggling to find acceptance…</p>
<p>The LAC I visited seemed pretty cliquey, but most of them were not exclusive by any means. Heck, even the group I went to visit with broke up into cliques.</p>
<p>There are usually cliques that form no matter the class size, although they should not pose a problem if you can be on good terms with the ones that you care about :)</p>
