Something I’ve been hearing (and reading) about Brown is that it is prone to being very cliquey. Any current or past students interested in helping me verify this?

Brown’s social scene is not cliquey in a classic sense-- I find that all students are able to fluidly move between groups and activities without any problems. It is “cliquey” in the sense that huge parties or campus events are not the norm, you’re far more likely to find 10-30 people hanging out than 100-200 at any one place at any time.

Cliquey tends to imply a set of walls which separate people that I didn’t really experience.

Okay thanks! That’s what I expected I just thought it’d be such a bummer if it was difficult to meet so many diverse students

brown is not very cliquey at all. I would say there are definite “scenes” but they are fluid and include new people
