Hello to all who applied to Clive Davis Recorded Music at Tisch. Congratulations to the lucky few who were accepted!
My son has set Clive Davis as his number one absolute first choice. He's presently finishing junior year and plans to spend the summer working on his application materials for the program.
I am the eternal worrier/pessimist. With only 32 possible spots - I know the chances for any one person are extremely slim.
When he looks at other programs his response is that they just don't measure up to Clive Davis. In most cases I have to agree with him, but I'm trying to make him look at each program for itself without doing a direct comparison to "perfect".
I'm wondering if anyone out there would be willing to share where else they applied along with Clive Davis. We have a list of schools with music industry programs, or music technology programs, or music business programs - looking to see where others who had their hearts set on Clive Davis also considered going.
I've got my fingers and toes crossed that we'll be visiting him in New York the year after next - but I'm trying to be realistic at the same time...
Thanks for your responses!

I would like to know the answer to that as well.

I guess USC’s new program of popular music might be a choice, but I’m not sure

Bump…
Still hoping there might be an answer or answers out there.

USC’s Music Industry program is also excellent. I’m applying to both and from my research, I think they are quite comparable.

is anyone here in the Clive Davis program? what did you do for the 5 min creative sample? I am really concerned, I really really want to get into this program, it is my first and pretty much only choice…any ideas for improving my portfolio?..and also what kind of picture did you guys send in?..a regular “at home” pic or a professional shot?
Do you think that sending professionally recorded music with a really successful music producer is better than sending an live performance video?
help please?..
Thanks…

What type of entrepreneur would you be applying as?
I sent a regular picture taken by a regular camera with a bit of photoshop tweaking so it didn’t look too dark or too bright, etc.
