I'm a guy with a average build and slightly above average height. I'm looking for quality T-shirts (not super expensive designer though) that will last a long time and is really soft and comfy. Remember, they have to be good t-shirts, not just the average (especially plain white Ts, I'll probably get a lot of those). What companies make good t-shirts?

What are you supposed to layer? A shirt over a shirt, shirt under polo...so many possibilities, what are the nicest ways to layer? Thanks.

Depends on your body-fat percent; i.e. if you’re of above-average muscularity go for well-fitting (but NOT tight!) T-shirts. If you’re overweight, don’t wear t-shirts. If you’re in the normal range, look for A&F, Lacoste etc. for quality if you can afford it.

For layering, to be honest most people I know layer because otherwise they would sweat right through their shirts and that just looks disgusting. plain white T under most shirts looks good, not all though. You should be layering if you’re going to be wearing pullovers in my opinion. There are some really fancy combinations that I’ve seen like shirts over hoodies etc, but that’s not for your average person.. I’d say stick with Ts under polos & shirts, and double-Ts or double polos occasionally.

Yeah I guess. I go to a school with a lot of kids that would be deemed preppy etc. but they’re quite OK. It looks fine on them & me. I guess it depends on which polos you choose ^^

Double polo isn’t even preppy, it’s just ■■■■■■-tastic, like the other guy said.

Hugo Boss probably makes the best shirts out of ANY brand, but they’re expensive and I don’t usually see Hugo Boss plain shirts. Banana Republic has the best plain shirts that I’ve seen and you can usually get them 2 for $30 or whatever.

Sorry - Are mom’s allowed in the “College Life” forum?

I just wanted to say that there are high quality, soft, comfy, reasonably priced t shirts at LandsEnd.com. They last forever. I know Lands End is not a catalog for people in their teens and twenties, but the t shirts are great if what you are looking for is high quality t shirts for layering. The shirts are fairly long. They have a generous cut, too - not like an American Eagle slim fit.

I second or third Banana Republic. And in terms of fit and quality Lacoste is defiantly worth the money for polos (although they have been spotted on a lot of douches lately).
