This is sort of too early for me to be wondering about this, since I haven't had an interview scheduled yet, but... What should a person wear to his or her interview?

I think the general consesus has been what they often call on cruise ships "smart casual". That entails a skirt or nice pants and blouse for girls and khakis/slacks witha nice shirt for guys. I would suggest no sneakers, jeans, or jshirts. But I may be incorrect

ritzbitz 133 is exactly right

something that you would wear to see your grandmother. that would make her say ,"what a nice girl/boy". it doesn't have to be overdone, just nice. no suits necessary.

basically... no jeans, no cleavage girls :) , nothing ostentatious.

haha why thank you cleveland

I had to go in my cheerleading uniform because of the scheduling of the interview - so I sort of broke all the modesty rules but too late now, and I'm thinking it probably worked in my favor.

haha jia. i'm sure it did the trick. maybe i should go in my rowing unisuit.

it doesnt matter what you wear as long as it is in good tastes.

you can wear sneakers, jeans, and anything else as long as it looks tasteful and doesn't scream with immodesty. for example wear jeans, pair of black leather shoes, and a crisp ironed shirt untucked (that's barrel cuffed). its classic and I think works well in a casual informal setting.

just make sure that what you wear isnt crazy and wont detract from the substance of your interview.

yeah it helps if you go there from another event. i went to my harvard interview right after a model UN conference and i was decked out in western business mafia-black. lol don't do it though if you don't have to.

i think guys should go collar tie khaki loafer for schools like yale. for LACs you can be more casual. you run the risk of acting like you don't really care if you just show up wearing what you wear to school. if you dress up for interschol sports games, the least you can do is dress up for an interview
