Clothing for interviews

Would it be bad for a guy to have a small earring in? I have an interview with a current student at a liberal arts college and I'm not sure if it'd show character or it'd make them think badly of me.

Shouldn’t really be a problem. As long as you seem like a well-mannered young man you should be fine. If you’re not sure, you can always not wear it to the interview and bring it up as a bit of humor :)

I had an interview yesterday and the person interviewing me (guy) had a earring in and this is at a top lac so you should be fine. Good luck!

I think it would be fine, as long as it isn’t an incredibly distracting earring. As long as you look dressed up I don’t see a problem. I have had a job interview from a man with an earring, I don’t find it unusual.

Thanks! I was getting mixed responses, so this was useful.

Well, what do you normally do when you have to dress formally, like for church (if you’re religious) or a nice restaurant? Do whatever is typical for you.

Think, if you’re going to be judged negatively for doing what you normally do, is that really the right college for you?

It may depend on what LAC it is. How a current student would dress would be different at a hippie-ish LAC compared to a preppie-ish LAC or a religious LAC.

interviews dont mean much. earrings lol that wont affect you at all!
