Also - if you're looking into joining a sorority, how do they dress? Do you need to dress up more for class?

However they feel like it. Some dress in comfy, slightly rumpled clothes, some look neat and dressy, most usually dress like…average people, I guess. How do you dress?

I don’t know about sororities, we don’t have them here. :p

Your kidding right? I’ve seen everything from buisness atire to pjs…

Also, depends on the sorority.

In my opinion, most college girls dress the way you would. Most of them dress like a normal girl would: jean or short shorts with a comfy top. Of course, I’ve also seen girls with dresses and the like. All depends of what you normally wear to class.

For sororities, I’m not sure. I am a guy, so don’t know about theses. But I’ve seen some sorority girls around campus a few times. They don’t dress differently, in fact, you can’t even know they are in a sorority just by looking at their clothes. Some of them may wear their Greek t-shirt (you know, those that have the Greek letters on them). Rules varies from sorority to sorority, and from campus to campus.

If we’re talking about going to class, sorority girls don’t dress that drastically different. The biggest difference is that people tend to wear their letters A LOT, and certain trends (like the hoodie + leggings + rainboots look) start to become associated with girls in sororities.

For rush, you’ll probably have instructions on how you dress each day. For example, the first two days rushees are given a t-shirt to wear with whatever bottoms they choose. First invite is a little nicer. Second invite is somewhat dressy, and third invite is closer to formal.

But for just walking around campus you’ll see everything from head-to-toe outfits to sweats.

They dress however they want to. Or at least I do. Then again, I really don’t care what people think of me, as long as I’m comfortable in what I’m wearing/how I look.
Most are in casual jeans, t-shirt. I’ve seen people (and have done it myself) who will run out for something in only pj bottoms and shirt. I myself wear out of the normal range of clothing. I’ve also seen people in the whole suit and tie or dress outfit. Now that one is a little odd, but as I said… if you’re comfortable in that, go for it. I’m not one to judge if I’m taking my own advice.

Your clothing style won’t change that drastically- if you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, you’re not automatically going to go to 50s style dresses and heels. Personally, I would say to avoid high school logos (class of…, seniors of…, etc), and going overboard on your new college’s gear. It’s great to have school spirit, but there’s no need to be decked out in head to toe logo-wear.

Personally, I wear a lot of conservative dresses and low to moderate heels. I don’t get too many weird looks, even though most people wear jeans and a nice shirt.

If you google “college fashion” you’ll find a website that will give you plenty of good ideas.

You can dress however you want to. and as far as greek life attire goes, I’ve seen sorority girls come to class in everything from a hoodie and jeans to a button down and khakis to a sheer white top and neon bandeau (i wouldn’t advise that, though). Wear what is comfortable and what you like. Take this time to develop a personal style.

I go to college in the south, so a LOT of girls dress up for class. Dresses aren’t uncommon.

Girls who are interested in joining sororities at my university have to wear certain T-shirts during the first week or so of school and aren’t allowed to wear make-up.

After rush is over, girls dress how they like. Some just wear sweats to class while others dress up. It really depends on the person and their mood.
