So yesterday I was laying in bed and pondering some ideas about sports at the academy. In high school I played baseball and football. I am playing baseball at the academy if i receive an appointment. That leaves another season open for Intramural, Club, or another Varsity sport. I would like to play football and excelled at it in high school as an All-Conference selection however I am only about 5'8" and 165 or 170 by next year probably. Big enough to hold my own and play, but not sure if the physical toll my body would undergo is worth it honestly. So i guess my question is I am looking to possibly play a club sport that I have never played before. I am leaning to a club sport because it would be slightly more competitive, however correct me if I am wrong on that. I would like to play something I haven't really played at all or very much to experience it and was thinking Water Polo to stay in shape for baseball. Any other ideas? I am very interested in trying something new and really challenging myself to become a better athlete.

my guess would be that if you play varsity baseball you will most likely be doing it year round

Yes however I do know that playing more than one sport is encouraged as Coach grant has said this himself. But it was an idea that I was pondering was just looking for some input and thoughts about it. I will definitely take this up with coach. I was just curious about some possible sports.

Baseball at CGA has a fall and spring season, leaving you the winter for another sport. Water polo is played in the fall however. Given the tough academics you might want to use the winter for weightlifting and such. In the winter there are several possibilities but you might want to take those months to focus on the books. Good luck as always.

Yeah. I was just kind of thinking out loud and was thinking about trying something new. We'll see I guess. Im not too stressed about it i was just thinking about trying something different, however, I suppose I will be trying lots of new things. :)

possibly Track...?

Indoor track is a possibility but like I say you'll see when you get there three sports is tough. As it is you have to do some kind of physical activity every day from 4-6. But a formal sport, even club, is tough year around.

That was one thing I was wondering. I knew it was very demanding but I know I will not stay in my tip top shape by myself. I will still run and stay in good shape I just won't push myself as much on my own. I have lived and breathed sports my entire life and I am not used to having seasons off. So as long as I am practicing baseball a little bit during the winter or taking up Ultimate Frisbee or something to for some competition. Thanks for the input. It was helpful. I'll keep all of it in mind and decide with coach on what he thinks. It definitely won't hurt to concentrate on my academics.:)
