So, I joined this club when college started that is conflicting with another club that is more important to me. I made a few nice friends in my first club, but I may have to turn it down for the other club that I recently earned a spot in. I had no idea that my more important club would be conflicting with my other club and schoolwork, but it happens to be so. May I please get some advice on how to approach this situation? I hope to not feel bad for turning down the club that I was involved with first for my more important club. Thanks!
You simply let the club leadership know that now that school is well underway you have encountered a schedule conflict that you did not anticipate and unfortunately you will have to withdraw from the club. I suspect this happens all the time.
Just let the club leader or advisor know. Depending on the level of conflict you may be able to do both, each part-time, but in either case let the leadership know.
When you say conflicting, do you mean they are at the same time or it is taking too much time?
If the former, let the leadership know…others may have similar issue.
If the latter, then let them know you won’t be able to join them as you don’t have enough time.
