Hey,

I was wondering how club tennis works at USC. Does basically everyone that wants to play make the team, or is it still insanely difficult to play there? I've played varsity all my life and could probably have done decently at districts if my coach let me play dubs instead of singles, so is it possible to play there or what?

As far as I know, there's both "Club" and intramural tennis at USC. I believe Club Tennis is more competetive and more serious than intramural, and consequently requires more of a commitment. Intramural is for everyone (i.e. beginners/people who have never picked up a racquet before). I looked up the schedule for Club tennis online and it said practice is from 6-10PM Monday through thurday (http://www.usc.edu/student-affairs/IMREC/site_content/club_sports/schedules.html). I don't know if you really have to go everyday, though, but that kinda scared me lol. I was the captain on my high school's varsity team, but I don't think I can set aside that much time in college. That's all the info/guesses I have right now. I'm gonna find out more during Welcome Week. Does anyone else know something about this?

I've HEARD the club team is wicked good, and it's hard to get on.

And for most club sports, if they actively compete against other school's club and varsity teams, if you don't go to all the practices, you won't have a real spot on the team.
