Hello,

My son will be attending HPU this fall and he is very excited to get involved on campus. We were talking about different clubs and events his father and I did during our time in college. We heard about a few different clubs during our visits but we would love to hear about other interesting clubs HPU has to offer. He is interested in business and would like to find a Christian group on campus too. Anything else interesting currents students can offer would be great too!

Also, do students receive emails about clubs or will there be an orientation fair when we arrive in Aug?

Thanks!

My son is alton entering as a freshman in fall. I am pretty sure the first week of orientation there is an activities and club fair incoming students are encouraged to attend. Check out the orientation packet sent, you can also check on website the clubs and activities that are available.

As a rising sophomore at High Point University, I can say that we did, in fact, have an enormous Clubs & Activities Fair within the first few weeks we were on campus. This fair is advertised all over campus and all students receive reminder emails, so it’s not really something anyone could miss out on. Honestly, it’s a great time to even try something totally new. We have a ton of career-based clubs, all of which will be on display at this fair in August/September, I’m sure. Chances are, if your son or daughter is interested in it, we have it. In regards to club sports, I know I contacted a few club coaches before I got to campus, just to show my interest. I will attach the HPU club sports link below, for your convenience. Hope I was able to help! http://www.highpointpanthers.com/sports/2009/8/24/GEN_0824093239.aspx

There are a handful of business clubs on campus. I am personally involved in Entrepreneur’s Club and I love it. Great way to network and get involved. As far as Christian organizations on campus, they are out there too! College Life is a lot of fun and I’ve heard great things about Campus Crusades for Christ as well. I think you’re son will find plenty to get involved in right away.

The activities fair is usually the first week of school. Your son will see info on the CAT Calendar and he’ll also get an email about it.

Hope that helps. August is getting closer!

Thank you all for your answers! My son is very excited to move in and get involved.
