To put it in a few words, I wasn't interested in any clubs freshman year, tried Drama club during sophmore year but was bored of that in a few weeks and didn't do any clubs for the rest of the year. Now it's junior year and I really need to join some clubs, but I'm not sure which would be easiest to get leadership postions in considering I haven't done any clubs yet. Also, how important is it to join clubs; is volunteering enough for a good college application?

What about Key Club?

^Key Club is a joke. But if your school’s club is as unorganized as mine, then by all means join and overthrow :P

Key clubs ARE jokes. They really don’t do anything that individuals can’t do on their own. All they do is community service, right?

Rotary Interact is the best service club by far.

Our math team is really easy.

crzay - that’s identical to our team, but we eat oreos and and chex mix instead, and have weekly practices and no requirements (last meet we needed 2 more people to have 2 full teams, and we tried to pull people from the hallway)

The overwhelming majority of colleges base admission on gpa, test scores and – for public schools – state of residence. Most colleges use ECs at most for merit aid consideration. It’s only places like Harvard that have such an overabundance of high stat applicants that they use ECs to select admittees from their pool of highly qualified applicants.
