There are a lot of clubs I would like to join at my school, but I am a pretty busy guy so I was wondering: partcipitationg in how many clubs is a optimal number for the best college chance, so I can build a good reume but still have a little free time.
I am already part of the debate club and soccer team, how many more clubs would help build a well rounded student (as well as a well rounded resume(: ).

Thank you and please don't give me parenting and abstract responses (do as many as makes u happy/ do what you want/ don't think about what colleges like) thank you again

The number you join isn’t as important as getting leadership positions in them. Getting leadership positions in 2 or 3 clubs looks much better than joining 4 or 5 clubs and not showing any dedication to any of them

5 more. Because 7 is the magic number for every student in every state and nation across the world to have “the best college chance” at every single university. If only more people knew about the magic number 7.

This made me laugh.

But seriously, OP, how can you expect anything but “abstract responses”? Are you seriously willing to believe there is an EXACT NUMBER OF CLUBS that will give you an edge? OF COURSE NOT! Join 2 clubs and spend hours every day doing stuff with them. Join 6 clubs and spend hours every day doing stuff with one. (The only thing you shouldn’t do is join 10 clubs and spread yourself out too thin and get super stressed out!)

It’s up to you. And that’s not me waxing poetic–it’s just the truth.

thanks I knew this was gonna happen, but smarty99 made me wonder what kind of response I was hoping for and how that might have not been the best question

Haha sorry I just wanted to get the point across! You’re going to do much much better in your high school career if you don’t worry about how many clubs you have, but just stay engaged in all you care about. That’s it. Remember, top schools look at you holistically.
