Yes, yes, wrong thread,
but the thing is, I'm looking at people with all these great E.C.'s and many of them attended/organized all these different clubs:
1.How deep can the colleges pry on my joining clubs (can I just not go to any sesions and then attend like 5 different clubs in the last semester/quarter(I would've earlier, but there were some problems)?)
2. Anyone got any ideas for clubs that I can establish in my school (my hs is quite competitive, and it has probly all the basic and some very unique clubs (from model U.N. to sword fighting)) already.
So if you guys can give me some ideas of interesting clubs that aren't "too interesting" (tai-chi, walking-on-coals, breathing-fire, OUT :P), that would be well-appreciated.

colleges do not care if you're just a "member" of a club... they only care if you're an officer

ok, so I can put "member" on whichever club I want basically...
and about "officers": got any ideas of new clubs?

yea you basically can but colleges think that you're just trying to fill up space on your application if you just put that you're a member of a club because you can be a member if you just go to one club meeting.. if you're an officer on the otherhand, you usually have to go to a majority of the meetings so that shows commitment

I am organizing a "Literary Analysis of Harry Potter" club at my school next year. Book clubs are good, or movie clubs. (lol- harry potter, love that stuff).

Start a Ninja Club. Then affiliate with the sword club and have some super awesome fights.

or instead of girls' league.. start a mans' league

i agree with most posts,
MEMEBERS="0"
Executive members are what they are looking for

instead of asian club, start a caucasian club.

no you cant start an all white club cuz then people will think they're a KKK member..

oh yeah and the asians aren't out to get us? ha. its ok to exclude whites, but not ok for whites to exclude asians? something is wrong...oh yeah it's our ****ing liberal society that's wrong

yea its a double standard

its like if you start an all black club, then its fine... but if you start an all white club then you're a KKK member

Yeah, I agree. Being a club officer really helps your chances. Although filling your app with clubs in which youre only a member wont hurt your chances, itll just make your app look kind of stale. So, start a NEW club and/or be a board member (e.g. Key Club, Cope)

What is key club?

white is a race, asian is an ethnicity, liberal society, are you *****ing serious? we have the most idiotic conservative president up there in the white house, don't tell me its a liberal society. Asian club is suppose to be a cultural club, and there were many white people in the asian club at my old school.

I'm a white officer of our Asian Club, mostly cause the smart kids that are my friends happen to be asian. Plus they serve food at the meetings :)

I'm Chinese... and what?
We probly make up 15% of your top ivies
:P, so bring it on.
Though seriously,
you can't seriously be talking about a messed up liberal society.
Have you any idea how hard it is for Chinese-Americans to get into good colleges, and then a black person gets in wit 2/3 the gpa?
Ya wanna complain, go complain about that.
