Cluster System...? Who, what, where?

Hey everybody, I know its still really early and everything, but I just decided that I'm gonna be going to WashU next year (class of '10) and I was looking through some of the material they've sent me. What exactly is this cluster system and how do the graduation requirements work? I've heard from some WashU students that many of the students on campus don't even understand it themselves. I'm likely gonna be a pre-med(bio/chem) or a math major, so am I gonna have to take lots of English classes? What about language requirements (No me gusta espanol!)? Writing-intensive courses? AP credits? Just sitting here, counting the days till August 24....

The cluster system is not difficult to figure out. You will probably figure it out well before your 2nd year. You will likely have to take several humanities courses, but you won't have to take a language class if you don't want to. Instead, you can take linguistics or modern dace (not kidding).

Regardless of your major, you will take a writing intensive course.

Also, unless you have math or physics AP credit, it is useless to you. In fact, since you want to be pre-med, your physics AP credit is also useless. But since you want to be a math major you can use your math AP credit to jump right into calc III.

JD@WashU,
I'm about to PM you a link that should help...because I had basically the exact same question.
