Clustering?

I'm a rising senior and have been visiting schools and am trying to narrow down which ones I want to apply to. I've tried to select a range of reach, match, and safety schools. I think I've pretty much decided where I want to apply, but the more I think about it, the more I worry that I'm clustering. If anyone here could give me their opinion I would greatly appreciate it.

Reach :
Duke
Emory

Match:
Furman
UGA (In state)

Safety:
Samford
College of Charleston

My GPA is a 3.915 and I'm ranked 41/758 (top 5-6%)
SAT: 1950; 680 CR, 610 M, 660 W
As far as ECs, I am very involved in band and tennis at school and outside of school, so most are related to those in some way. I have a little community service and some leadership through band.

I'm planning on taking the SAT again in October and will also take several SATII's in the fall.

I guess I'm really concerned that my safeties really aren't that safe. My GPA and SAT scores are higher than the averages for both those schools, but I'm still worried. Am I clustering? Do I have too many schools that are more matches or reaches than true safeties?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

UGA is pretty safe I think.

Thanks so much!!

what about wake forest, GIT, florida, miami, davidson, richmond as some additional schools to look at?

I think you've mapped out your choices well. Your GPA (if unweighted) is excellent, but your SAT scores are only average to below average for your REACH schools. I think your match/safety schools are fine.

Depending on the rigor of your academic record (i.e., have you taken many AP/Honors classes?), you could increase your chances for Emory by retaking the SAT to up your scores.
