Does anyone know if there is any early type notification for merit scholarships? I’m guessing not.
26% of CMC undergraduates are varsity athletes. In 2017/2018, 352 freshmen enrolled. Assume 92 of them were athletes who all applied ED. In total 207 students were admitted by ED out of 667 who applied. With this assumption, the admittance rate for non-athletes who applied ED would have been 20% (115/575). This compares to the 8% admittance rate for students who appllied RD. Bottom line: applying ED for non-athletes substantially increased their chance of being accepted.
Seems fair to conclude (or at least strongly suspect) from those numbers that non-athletes applying ED are around twice as likely to be admitted as non-athletes applying RD. (We don’t know for sure because those numbers don’t tell you the mix of non-athletes versus athletes in RD.) But that’s different from saying that non-athletes increase their chances of being accepted by applying ED. That works only if the field of non-athletes is about the same in ED as in RD. But the numbers you’re citing don’t tell you that. So I am skeptical of your conclusion, @lime20002001 . But I appreciate that you shared the numbers; I hadn’t known about them before.
My assumption is that 100% of varsity athlete recruitment intake occurs at ED. Of course that isn’t the case, but the result is that the admittance rate is even higher for non-athletes at ED than RD.
waitlisted. Does anyone know if they waitlist a lot of people or is there a good enough chance I may get in if I get in the waitlist?
