CMC/Scripps for Biology?

I'm looking toward majoring in Biology in college, and having looked at both schools, I'm leaning toward the social atmosphere of CMC. I've noticed, however, that it seems to be hugely government/econ focused....would this take away at all from my experience at CMC? Do they have a significant population of Bio majors?
Any input greatly appreciated :)

CMC, Scripps and Pitzer all share the Keck Science Center and they all participate in the AISS program. You have to apply to get into this program, but it’s an accelerated integrated science program that allows you to study Chemistry, Biology and Physics intensively during your first year. Check it out on the website. I think there are a lot of Bio/Premed majors no matter where you go, but this program does sound good at least on paper:

There’s a student testimonial about the program and also a FAQ page with a lot of details. I think if you like the atmosphere at CMC you should go for it, since the science courses will be through the Keck center anyway. But I would be really interested in hearing from anyone who is in the AISS program.
