so i got off the waitlist at CMC and I have a week to decide. Im in the Echols Scholars program at UVA, so thats a plus, and I want to join a sorority. Not from the south though, but west coast, so not sure if that will hurt my chances of getting in one. Also not sure if UVA has really large classes, becaue I want to get to know the professors, which I know students do at CMC. Any advice?

I’m pretty sure that UVA has large classes, because it’s such a humongous institution. As for the sorority, obviously CMC doesn’t have any, but UVA has a vast number of them, so I’m sure you will not face many obstacles from getting into one.

Since you’re from the west coast, if you want to experience a different environment, I would go to UVA. It has a beautiful campus. As does CMC, although its is more modern and has less historic-looking architecture. And if you want to stay closer to home, I would go to CMC.

I do know that UVA has secret societies, which seems sooo cool and just wicked sweet.

But yeah, two great choices; any choice is great!

Another good source of comparative information would be your talking with several of the CMC students who began as freshmen at UVA and then transferred to CMC. I know of three who fit that description.
