Im not a CS major, but would like to take computer science 8 my first quarter. I heard from one friend who is undeclared that he was unable to even take cs8 regardless of its openings. Does this mean that if you arent a CS major you cant take cs8 without crashing? Gold has no restrictions placed on cs8, so im just not sure.</p>

<p>They give preference to CS majors, which is probably why they wouldn’t let him sign up. If there are spots left after all the CS majors have had their chance, they’ll probably let you in.</p>
<p>if there are no restrictions on GOLD, then you are able to sign up for it. what gold says goes, unless the dept or the professor decides to do something else</p>
