<p>Hope you don’t mind me starting a acting/MT thread here… </p>
<p>I know S isn’t the only one from these parts on the wait list for CMU so thought I’d send out a tendril to see if others are aware of the days between today and Tuesday as I am. 
</p>
<p>I’ve been stalking the CMU_admissions twitter and they’ve said that an email will be going out shortly with information and that all priority wl kids will be notified on the 6th ( Tuesday) </p>
<p>I know some of the MT kids got acting spots and wonder if that rolls both ways? </p>
<p>Good luck to you Octaviar. Three hours after my daughter committed with a school CCM emailed that they had accepted her off the wait list for vocal performance. It’s nice to have a definite time line. </p>
<p>My S too is waiting for MT… wishing the best to everyone and hoping for GOOD news on May 6th :)</p>
<p>It is true. A freshman boy has declined CMU MT and committed to Texas State. Go bobcats!</p>

<p>A girl tweeted that she was just admitted to acting. Maybe they are still making calls. </p>
<p>I saw that and wondered if that means they are notifying today. </p>
<p>My S just got an email that he was accepted into Acting … And he auditioned for musical theater. Any thoughts about this … We certainly were shocked (in a good way). </p>
<p>lol That makes sense @Octaviar. But who knows at this point. Count it as a blessing if you get in and a blessing if you don’t. There’s a reason for either. Still got my fingers crossed for your S. The girls have been so quiet on the web so there’s no way to tell who got in.</p>
<p>Well, it is what it is, either way. The fact that another boy ( congrats @Inspired59 !) got in just now, leaves me thinking it’s probably not going to be the school my S attends. Grateful that he has a good school set up! </p>
<p>Bummed that he won’t be closer for me to visit though! </p>
<p>Got the email. Priority wait list closed and now moved to just waiting. lol They dangled that fabulous financial package in my face. lol She’s going to CCM!</p>

<p>On a related note, I’ve heard other parents express concern that they seem to be offering acting spots to MT kids but haven’t heard of that going both ways. Wonder if they are filling both programs with MT students? Perhaps in the near future they will formalize it and announce the end of the Acting program and a double sized MT program! </p>
<p>@Octaviar Yes that would be nice if they took just a few more kids. But I think that they offered acting to people they thought were good actors and not necessarily singers. My daughter is definitely a singer first. She would never have been happy in an acting program and I think they recognized her vocal ability over acting. But making the priority wait list was a huge confidence boost and then getting into CCM’s vocal program which is also super selective was fantastic. She didn’t do any special coaching either. We didn’t even know about it! Wish we had. </p>
<p>Pace is a great school and I know quite a few very talented (top-dogs) here in Chicago that got rejection letters so your son should feel proud. Maybe our kids will try again next year or maybe they will be perfectly happy where they are. Either way…see you on Broadway! </p>
