CMU audition question

Okay so I really hate being that girl and I know you shouldn’t read too much into your auditions but I can’t help it!! Okay so what does it mean if you weren’t passed on to the other room for monologues? I did my monologues for Barbara and received a lot of praised and she kept stressing how smart she knew I was which seg-wayed into her saying something about Meryl streep and how she went to Vassar…I know random right? but she didn’t have me do it with adjustments or pass me on or ask me for any thing else!!! I have always heard the more time they spend with you and if you get passed on to the other room, the more interested they are and a friend of mine claims they did 5 or 6 and got passed from barbara to the other one. I felt super confident about both my singing and acting and I got great vibes but from what i’ve been reading EVERYONE gets praise and great vibes. I have a feeling that she was kind of pressed for time because I was in the morning session and I was the last one AND they were an hour behind.

Hi kumquatkitty!

I know it’s hard, but reading into any of your auditions is always hard and at times silly. Every single person in my class at CMU all had completely different audition experiences. Some were passed on others weren’t, and some were worked with while others weren’t. We have no idea what goes through their heads during this process, but if you feel confident in your work, don’t second guess yourself! I’m sure you were great!

Do you have any idea about the rating system? Do you have to get a 4 or 5 on 2 out of 3 parts to even be considered?

No, none of us know anything about the rating system, including the kids who work auditions. Sorry! :(
