Your unweighted GPA is probably less than 3.7 since your weighted for core classes is 3.8. So you are bit lower than average. Your standardized test scores are on par. Also, try to add some CS related ECs. You seem passionate about singing so perhaps send in also a tape to add a different dimension to your profile.

@ognopgod, thanks a lot for your advice! But do I have a chance for the School of Computer Science? And also how are my chances regular decision as well?

Applying early give you a little bit higher acceptance rate 35% (ED) than average 27%. So it does give you a bit of a bump. If finances are not an issue, apply early. I think you do have a chance but if you have access to naviance or know acceptance history from other students in the previous years at your school, you can have a better idea how you stack up. However, naviance does not take into account legacy, athletes, etc.

Also, have you visited? If you can, do try to visit especially if you are planning to apply early. You want to see if you actually like the school and CMU does take interest into account. You can also set up an interview on campus as well (or in your hometown). My son is thinking to apply as well but he is looking to majoring in finance. He is also half-Iranian. Good luck!

@ognopgod or anybody else: Do you think I have a shot at JHU ED. I have a relative who works there, too.
