Hey guys! This is super exciting time for everyone! I remember this time last year. My name is Josh, and I'm a current Freshman in ECE (with a CS minor!), part of CMU Greek life, and a 15-112 TA! If you have any questions about the school, please let me know!

If you are accepted (or even if you aren't but plan on doing RD), please join the CMU 2019 FB group! As in past years, many current students will be here to answer your questions and guide you through your journey until you get here. The group was honestly one of the most useful things for me last year. Especially being ED, I met tons of people who I am still really close friends with today. As the year progresses and certain due dates arrive for various documents, scheduling, etc, we will be there to help. Orientation week will come before you know it!

The group is called "Carnegie Mellon University Class of 2019", and the banner is a picture of Gates
Unfortunately, there are a few similar spam groups created by people who are not affiliated with CMU, including some college websites. This is the group where all of the current and future CMU students will be. Make sure you don't join the one with (Official) at the end -- none of the public facebook groups are officially endorsed by CMU, and the official closed group is only accessable once you have submitted your deposit and have an andrewID.

Also, if you have any friends who aren't on CC who you know have been accepted, please tell them to join!

Thanks, and good luck in a few hours! I can't wait to meet some of you!

Don’t need your ID, that’s the CMU “official” group that no one actually ever uses. The unofficial group is, year after year, the group that everyone sticks to, since it is much more easily accessable and we can provide information not only to enrolled students but to prospective ones as well, especially when RD pops around and people are deciding between schools. The group is already getting exciting, come join now!

Yep! Bump by the way, everyone come to the group! Let me know if you have any questions at all (here or through FB). Congrats - I look forward to getting to meet all of you!
I’ll join. I have to wait for financial aid to come in before I commit 100% to CMU, but I’ve got a 90% chance of enrolling at this point. Definitely my #1 option.
By the way, why doesn’t @dontwantapickle want a pickle? Pickles are awesome, especially the pickled ones
