Thanks all. I know it’s a super crazy year. I guess I was surprised I didn’t even get wait listed. But trying not to be too discouraged by it. Haverford was one of my top choices, so I’m very happy to have gotten accepted there. I just thought I’d have a few more to decide between lol
My S21 was accepted (engineering) at Northeastern, Virginia Tech, GaTech and Michigan…but waitlisted at JHU and CMU.
Just had to laugh at the darts comment because we had the opposite result as you with CMU and GT. There is definitely an element of luck at all these top schools. But, the thought of dart boards in admissions offices did give me a chuckle because that’s what it’s felt like this year!
I’m so sorry, you have great things coming your way!
Dart throwing…haha! My daughter also rejected MIT, waitlisted GT and UVA, accepted UMich, Purdue and CMU today! Feeling like we are all in the same boat.
Accepted - Dietrich
3.91 Unweighted GPA, brought up to a 3.93 senior year.
No test scores (AP/SAT/ACT) submitted.
No class rank.
5 AP’s
Strong EC’s/leadership/essays/recs.
Wait…hold on…I think the answer is right in front of us! Obviously Michigan is the only one thinking clearly this year so maybe we’ll see you in Ann Arbor
In all seriousness, congrats to everyone who got into CMU this morning. It’s a fantastic school! To everyone else (like my son) who didn’t get in, good luck with all your other decisions!
Accepted Dietrich!!!
Accepted for college of engineering.
Priority Waitlisted. What are the chances of getting in?
Major - Biology
SAT =1570
Will CMU offer any merit scholarship if you get in through waitlist ?
CMU doesn’t offer merit scholarships, need only
@DoingOurBest We’re pretty similar! S21 waitlisted CMU and JHU accepted GT, also UCSD, Cal Poly, UCSC. Rejected MIT and CalTech.
He’s leaning pretty heavy on GT.
Good luck everyone!
Accepted Dietrich (Econ+Politics and additional interest in Policy and Management). Have to make some tough choices (UMich, Northeastern, Emory among others).
Haha @DGSchu…you’re right…almost identical! My son also rejected from MIT and Caltech too. He is currently leaning towards Michigan but the GT price is definitely more appealing.
Again? Wow! What are you going to do with so many acceptances? You should sell some of them!
I received a letter labeled financial aid in the portal. The date might be monday, but I received a letter regardless.
Did you submit FAFSA? Or is it merit?
Just the regular stuff. I am not sure why I have a letter and other people do not
It is crazy high. I opened it and started laughing
3,579 is the number accepting priority waitlist place or accepting regular waitlist place?
Me too and we laughed as well! It will come right off the list at that price!
