CMU decision dates

I currently have everything on my status, including my midyear report.

Does CMU release decisions before April?

They say 4/15 but based on cc posts last year looks like they started about 3/31.
Good luck!

April 15th?! Where does it say that?

4/15 here: [College Board](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)

3/15-4/15 here: [Carnegie Mellon University](<a href=“Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University”>Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University)

DO NOT WORRY if you DO NOT HEAR on MARCH 15!!

They dribble…and dribble and then dribble in over a two week period…and do not think just because you got dribbled last you were further down the pack…

They seem to mail them by regions…there appears to be no consistency as to why they don’t arrive in one swoop. We read this here on CC for the ED1 and ED11 crowd just two months ago. My 2012 student got her decision around March 27…some of her friends earlier than that and some didn’t hear until mid April… it is painful to wait, but be patient…

Check the “where am I page”…at the top, the boxes/grid of college to which applied will have a right hand column- you’ll see the decision there 3 days after it’s mailed. For internationals, that page will give you the decision before your snail mail.

For all ED and EA applicants-- there is still a HUGE package coming in the mail…called the “Fat Letter”…it goes out with everyone in the RD pool. It’s an exciting package…envelope is a keeper!

ABOVE ALL EVERYONE – DO NOT DO NOT WORRY…
No news is good news…CMU had record breaking applicant numbers again this year…fourth year in a row…26,000+ applications…so I would unfortunately expect a bit later this year-- closer to April than March 15.

Best of luck to everyone!

There’s a record number of applications and yet, the whole country is complaining about unemployment. Gosh, why don’t they employ more people for the admissions committee?

A record number of applications = A record amount of application fees

A record number of applications =
A whole lot of families that need to sort through a variety of colleges and financial packages
