<p>There is no such thing. There is only one "econ" major and it is in Tepper once you declare it. Then you pick different "tracks" depending on your interests such as Quant Econ (#2) or whatever. These tracks can be found on the Tepper website I gave you. There is no such thing as a non-Tepper econ anymore.</p>

<p>Most Tepper grads want to do business. Econ majors usually are the ones who enter law. Law school depends mostly upon GPA and LSAT (With LSAT being #1) rather than the actual name but CMU does do well among kids who want to do law (though this number is pretty small since most WANT to do pre-med, MBA, or of course, Technical majors for Grad school). </p>
<p>For your original question, the answer is NOT YET. It will take a few years for the switch of Econ into Tepper to be shown in the actual statistics so for a few years it might be easier to get into Econ than Tepper.</p>
