CMU for a hopeful Theatre Major?

I want to major in theatre (But not at CFA, I wanted a liberal arts education, not a 90% theatre education), however I don't think there is a major for it at Carnegie Mellon. Should I go to another school that offers a theatre major or is there a way to learn about Theatre and its history in another major?

Or if there isn’t any semblance of a major, is there still a way to involve myself in it?

Forgive me if I am not interpreting your question correctly. You are interested in studying Theater, however you want to earn a BA, not a BFA…is that correct? I believe your assessment of CMU [Acting / Music Theater](http://www.cmu.edu/cfa/drama/programs/amt/index.html) is correct, they only offer a BFA.
If you are looking at graduating with a BA in Theater then drop CMU. It is one of the reasons my daughter dropped CMU from her list.
G’Luck!
