CMU for econ?

does anyone know how good carnegie mellon's econ program is? from what i understand it is a dual enrollment between the business school(Tepper) and the humanities school(H&SS).

is the econ program well regarded? is it true that CMU is one of the top quantitative econ schools in the country... and to do quantitative econ would one need to go to Tepper rather than H&SS?

thanks

according to what i have heard.. the econ program at CMU is in the tepper school itself and most students pick dual degrees with business and econ.. since most of the courses overlap..
as far as prestige.. the econ program by itself is not that well regarded even though the head professor for econ did win the nobel 2005. a college like umich or chicago would be much better for an only econ degree..as in these schools, econ is one of the most popular majors chosen by undergrads..

Econ is in Tepper as of last year. It is just as highly regarded now as Tepper and you get the EXACT same job opps and interns as you would in Tepper.

You basically stay in your major if you wanted to do quantiative econ since you are in Tepper as well as HSS. If you have any other questions, PM me.
