I want to schedule an interview with a CMU alumni soon but I'm not sure of who to choose. There are 5 alumni interviewers in my country and my country is pretty small so location does not pose a problem. Would it be better for me to request for an interview with someone from department I'm applying to or will it be okay if I just ask for interview with someone younger who was from the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences(even if I'm applying to CIT)?

I suggest asking for someone in CIT because the interview is not only about the interviewer asking you questions but he will talk about his/her experiences in school (in detail sometimes) as well as expect you to ask questions about it.

The point of the interview is for you to learn about the school, not as much for them to learn about you.
