CMU or Brown? Brand or engineering?

I have a weirdish kind of dilemma...i got admitted in Carnegie Mellon for the course i wanted which is Engineering and Public Policy. And was waitlisted in Brown...
Just today, Brown has sent me a letter saying that they are willing to grant me admission if i accept them.

Now i do not understand what can i choose? The Ivy or Carnegie? Which is a better college for enginering, and more importantly how important is the stamp of an ivy league institution?

If youre looking for a more liberal, better overall education choose brown. The open curriculum will allow you to take classes in not only engineering but also a lot of other disciplines. Brown will offer a lot more than just academics.

If you’re just looking at engineering - and are 100% sure you wouldn’t be interested in
anything but that, choose CMU.

If I was you, I’d choose brown.

In terms of engineering go to CMU if you are unsure go to Brown

thankx a lot people…

[Brown’s open curriculum](<a href=“Complete Your Degree | The College | Brown University”>Complete Your Degree | The College | Brown University) can allow a student to take fewer courses in other disciplines, since there are effectively no breadth requirements for most students.

However, students in an [ABET-accredited engineering concentration](<a href=“Engineering | Brown University”>Engineering | Brown University) must take at least four humanities and social studies courses, though this is fewer than is typically required for engineering majors elsewhere.
