I'm a Sophomore, and I just sent my app to CMU. But my councelor rec had to be sent separately (she didn't finish). Is that a bad thing? What is the admit rate for this program anyway? How did you guys feel? Tell me please!!

"no" to the first question.
and should have done diversity AP/EA instead of sams. :P
SAMS isnt very selective, but cmu people never publish their admission stats for pre-college. i probably should have asked when i was there, but theres no way for me to find out now...

^ i thought that ap/ea was only for rising seniors. if you can, could you give us the stats of some people that were accepted at sams?

i applied too, and hopefully i can get in. it really sounds like fun

really SAMS isn't really selective? but its free!

wth??? Er, shouldn't it be selective?? someone in the other form said 100 people out of 900 got in.
Hehe, I am pretty diverse, but the only problem is that my psat score as a sophomore is a 193.
yaya. I did really bad.

And I spelled "Carnegie mellon" wrong. I spelled it "CarnAgie Mellon" on my essays, although I only mentioned this name twice.

bump!! I need more replies!! comon people!!

around 700 apply...about 100 are accepted...they care more about the essays then academics...

this is info. that was given to me by someone who attended.

really? but tongchen said it isn't so comeptitive . . . who do I believe?

i really dont know... you'llsee's friend and i have equal authority on judging. :P
i really have no idea if as many as 700 apply every year, considering most people have just heard of CMU Pre-College instead of CMU Diversity. of course, id love for the admission rate to be really low--id feel much more special.
