CMU -- SAT Subject tests from sophomore year?

My DD wants to apply to Carnegie Mellon College of Engineering. On their webpage Admission > Undergraduate Admission a footnote says "Only junior or senior test results are acceptable."

My DD took SAT Subject tests Math2 and Chemistry at the end of sophomore year of high school. She has good scores, and doesn't want to retake tests. Is it going to be a problem?

That shouldn’t be a problem. I think they are talking about the normal SAT test. My S took the Math IIc test at the end of his HS freshman year.

That statement applies to SAT Reasoning and ACT .

Subject tests are fine any year-- as many 9th graders take SATII Bio in that year.
You’re good.

FY DD should join CC or be reading admissions directions and asking Adcoms questions directly. Make sure mom doesn’t email adcoms under ANY circumstances other than financial aid. Adcoms frown upon parental inquiries. students need to do this themselves.

we’re all good here on CC with parents-- but make sure you contact adcoms on her behalf at any point in the process.
