I was wondering if I could get some advice from all of you on what school I should enroll in. I was accepted into all three of these Business programs, and I want to study something along the lines of Finance or Financial Engineering. I really don't know which school I should go to because all of them have their own great advantages. What do you guys think in terms of each schools prestige, job placement, and overall education? Thanks!

In terms of finance, the general consensus is that Stern is the best among those 3, McDonough being the second, and Tepper being the last.

Stern's finance program is outstanding, well known both nationally and internationally, and many of its graduates are recruited by top investment banks. Being in NYC, Stern has an incomparable advantage over any other schools in the nation in terms of finance.

McDonough is very similar to Stern in many aspects. It has a strong finance curriculum and sends many of its graduates to top IB's.

Though Tepper is more of a semi-target school for top IB's, its Computational Finance major is one of the most prestigious and rigorous curricula in the nation. After Comp. Finance, Tepper graduates are recruited as traders and consultants.

This is what I have heard of those three schools. May be misleading or wrong, so use it just to get an idea of what they are.

It depends what you value.

Being close to wall street and city campus or a college town with a campus

In terms of IB placement, Stern does have a location bonus, but it does not do better than Georgetown. If anyone really wants to argue this point by looking citing rankings, then there's not much I can say. But in terms of of placement, one can easily justify that MSB does just as well as Stern.

Plus we're getting a new building that's set to open for us spring of 09.

Prestige: Georgetown, NYU, CMU
Job Placement: Georgetown, NYU, CMU
Overall Education: NYU, CMU, Georgetown

All great choices, this is just my take . Georgetown lacks the quantitative focus of the other two, but has such a presence on Wall STreet that it wins your other two categories.

Corrupt offers a valid point, Georgetown is not quantitative enough. But the curriculum committee is working on revamping the entire curriculum - suppose to happen in the next few years.

Hi have to agree with tomahawk. For finance, you cannot beat NYU's Stern School.

NYU has the best finance hands down. Go to Stern! Plus interning at wall street is priceless....

omg r u serious????
Stern is so much better than other choices!!!
I mean they are all very good. but seriously think about it.
Where else on this earth can provide a better business education and career than new york.
And stern is ranked so high....
omg cant believe that u have asked this

"omg" i cant believe ur so ignorant...yes nyu has a great location and is a great school but it isnt in the end-all be all for finance...just like gtown isnt the end-all-be-all for politics...georgetowns overall reputation as a school is better and it is more represented on wall street
