CMU to Brown -- is it possible?

I am a freshman applying for transfer admission to Brown from Carnegie Mellon. I'm leaving CMU because of the dour environment and want of a stronger literary-based community (I'm a writing major). I already sent in my application, but I was hoping on getting some feedback on what to expect come May.

CMU:
3.79, Dean's List
GREAT activities: newspaper writer / asst. editor (I sent in two articles), newspaper copy staff, Univ. Lectures Chair (board member), CMU peer writing tutor, fundraiser PR co-chair, volunteer at local conservatory (10 hours / week)

HS:
3.72 GPA
SATs: 1360, 610, 670, 680
good recommendation forms from my guidance counselor
strong activities for a writing major

essays: spectacular
college recommendations: very good
supplemental recommendation: spectacular

I don't think I would have been accepted to Brown as a regular freshman candidate, but my chances have improved with my performance at CMU, a school known for heavy grade deflation.

oh I'm also applying to BU and Emerson. I don't expect either of those to be a problem, but Brown is my first choice. If you guys can think of other good matches, let me know!

thanks!

if you have the cash, why not splurge and apply to 8-10 schools. it would increase your odds of getting out, since the entire admissions proccess is so mother plunkin' arbitrary.

uva? dartmouth? cornell?
