<p>Is the math program at either CMU or UIUC better than the other? As far as rankings go, I think UIUC was ahead overall, but if you delved into USNews's specialties, UIUC and CMU seemed more even. Since they both have top CS/Engineering departments I'd imagine that the math would have to be pretty good at both places, but does anyone who knows anything about the schools think one has the edge?</p>
<p>They are relatively equal, I would opt for the less costly school.</p>
