CMU / WASH U

Hey guys! I just applied to these two schools (kind of last minute, without consulting my college advisor), and so I’m looking for some advice! I know at this point all I can do is demonstrate interest, so if you guys have any ways that worked for you, I’d love to know!

CMU Supplementary Essays: about how I want to attend an arts school that is also within a more conventional university.
Portfolio: I’ve already gotten into VCUarts (20% acceptance rate; top rated program), so, it’s gotta be decent.

RECs:

Probs not that good, honestly. I’m not really friends with any of my teachers.

** I applied RD to both!! Please help me figure out what sort of demonstrated interest (if any) I need to do!

Congrats on VCUARTS! that’s awesome you should be very proud. D(female and Jewish too) is attending now as freshman in AFO and
greatly enjoys. it is also very demanding and competitive. Its one of the top fine arts programs in country and Richmond is a really cool town. Good luck.

Hi @artfarts , my daughter applied at art schools, early action. She applied to VCUARTS as well, but we haven’t heard yet. When did you find out about VCU? And was it through email or regular mail?

I applied to VCUARTS a couple of days before the scholarship deadline in november, and I heard back just last week. They sent my acceptance to me via regular mail. If you think you’ve been waiting too long, check their VCU vip page to make sure everything sent. :-h

@artfarts , thank you!
